Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Lokyt platform ("Service"), including the mobile application and website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Lokyt reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Description of Services

Lokyt is a real-time hyperlocal availability platform that connects users with nearby vendors, service providers, and businesses. Our services include:

• Search and discovery of nearby vendors and their real-time availability
• Voice and text search in English and Hindi
• Direct contact with vendors via phone call or WhatsApp (Lokyt does not intermediate transactions)
• Reviews and ratings for vendors
• Favorites and saved vendors
• Emergency helpline directory (always free, no login required)

Lokyt does not provide: Delivery services, in-app payment or checkout, ordering or cart systems, or any e-commerce functionality. All transactions between users and vendors occur independently of Lokyt.

3. User Obligations

As a user of Lokyt, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information during registration
• Use the platform only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms
• Not submit false, misleading, or defamatory reviews
• Not attempt to harass, threaten, or abuse vendors
• Not use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the Service
• Not interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers
• Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems

Lokyt is free for all users, forever. Users never pay to search, browse, or contact vendors.

4. Vendor Obligations

Vendors registered on Lokyt agree to:

• Provide accurate and up-to-date business information
• Maintain honest availability, pricing, and inventory information
• Comply with all applicable laws including GST regulations
• Respond professionally to user contacts and reviews
• Not engage in price manipulation, fake availability, or deceptive practices
• Comply with DPDP Act requirements for any user data they receive through Lokyt (phone numbers from contact leads)

5. Reviews & Content

Users may submit reviews and ratings for vendors. By posting a review, you:

• Confirm that your review is based on genuine experience with the vendor
• Grant Lokyt a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display your review
• Agree that Lokyt may remove reviews that violate these Terms, are abusive, or appear fraudulent

Lokyt does not guarantee the accuracy of user reviews and is not responsible for opinions expressed by users.

6. Limitation of Liability

Lokyt serves as an information and discovery platform. We are not a party to any transaction between users and vendors. Accordingly:

• Lokyt does not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or availability of any vendor's products or services
• Lokyt is not responsible for any disputes, losses, or damages arising from user-vendor interactions
• The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind
• Lokyt's total liability shall not exceed INR 100 (one hundred rupees) in any case

7. Emergency Services

Lokyt provides a directory of emergency helpline numbers as a public service. These emergency services are:

• Always free with no login required
• Never rate-limited
• Not controlled or operated by Lokyt

Lokyt is not responsible for the response or service quality of emergency services. Always dial 112 for life-threatening emergencies.

8. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Gurgaon, Haryana, India.

These Terms comply with the Information Technology Act 2000, Consumer Protection Act 2019, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023.

9. Termination

You may stop using Lokyt at any time. You may request account deletion from your profile page. Lokyt may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, without prior notice.
